Looked at a house today mostly because of what was in the backyard.

  • 18’x20’ concrete slab with metal roof.
  • 18’x20’ concrete slab with metal roof and 2 walls.
  • 10’x12’ shop building.
  • 8’x10’ storage building.

They are perfect and could easily be converted to 2 garages to work on project cars. The only problem is there is no way to get cars back there other than tearing down the 8’x10’ building and fence and then pouring a driveway leading back around the house to the buildings.

It’s midnight in Texas in my small town of 18,000.

I went out with the dogs and it was peaceful. So quiet and calm. No sirens or gunshots. Then a sextet of fart can exhausts fired up and I had to listen to that BULLSHIT as they drove ALL the way across town in 1st gear so everyone could hear them. The sound of the exhaust was only broken up by the chrome-plated plastic stick on accessories falling off the car at 30MPH. These are the douchebags that claim to be car enthusiasts in the scene. I fucking hate it here.

So I’m house garage hunting. I don’t really care about the house, but want a nice large garage and shop area. I stumbled across this here in town. I REALLY want this. Asking price is out of my reach unless I want to get a roommate or eat Ramen for awhile.
Approx. 8042 sq. ft. concrete block with metal roof building
Presently used as office & warehouse
Warehouse divided into 4 areas
2nd floor has been converted into living quarters of approx. 2542 sq. ft.
Lot is 100 x 200 (YCAD)
Taxes are $607. (YCAD)

Aired out and dragged through the drive-thru. I don’t give a fuck!
I feel like I need to move to a different location. If not a different city, maybe a different country. Maybe London. Note to self: Need to research shipping my car to London. And learn soccer. And the metric system.
I used to be a real asshole. I find myself being more tolerant of people in my old age.

It sucks. You’re welcome Vortex noobs that message me. LOL

I’ve worked a shit load of overtime this year. I passed my base salary sometime in November.

It’s been a good year. Since I am now a one man department within my company, the overtime looks to be more than last year. This just means more monies pumping into the MK6. *evil grin*

Took some more photos of my MK6 today.

Talked the owner of my local watering hole into getting Blue Moon on tap. I got the inaugural draft with an orange slice cut right before it hit the glass. Like a boss!

An Odd Story…

This weekend I was in my hometown. I had just picked up my freshly bagged whip on Friday. I went to my hometown to see my family. So while I was there, I went out and shot some photos of the whip around town. A little background on my hometown… This is a small Texas town where the majority of the town’s population are not open to new ideas or anything different. The thing to do in this town is lift trucks and make them off-road capable. Lowering cars is silly and just downright dumb. This is where I grew up. So I am shooting my car under a bridge and I hear a vehicle approaching slowly behind me. Without looking, I figured it was a cop looking to harass me since they don’t have anything else to do. I turned and looked and I saw a full size Chevy truck approaching. It looked like a typical farm truck. Base model, CB antennas, regular cab, big tool box in the bed, filthy as hell. The truck passed and the driver was probably in his mid-twenties, but looked at home behind the wheel of the farm truck. I was walking back to my car and he stops right next to my car and cranks his window down.

Him: Nice looking ride you got there!

Me: Thanks! (expecting to hear the next sentence being something about it being hard to drive that low or low is stupid or some other smart assed comment, I continue putting my camera in the car.)

Him: Is this thing on bags?

Me: (My brain processes the question. I was stunned. I slowly turn around and again, look him and his truck over.) Uhh…yeah. Yes, it is bagged. I just had it done so I’m snapping some new photos.

Him: Well, it sure looks nice! Take it easy man!

Me: Yeah, you too.

I got in the car and he watched me air up and then gave me a wave and drove off.

That was the strangest experience I think I’ve ever had in my hometown. This experience gave me hope that even a small, redneck town can evolve to accept things outside the norm. So maybe there is hope for the world.

T-minus 1 week…

Until I drop the VW off at Dorbritz Designs to get bagged.
